the word of Islam comes from the Arabic "Salima" which means safe and peaceful.

Word “salima” is then converted into word “Islam” that means surrendering and go in peace. Therefore, those who have surrendered, submissive, and obedient to Allah swt referred to as Muslims.

      Relate to the description, it can be deduced that the word Islam means etimologically as  obedient, submissive, and submit to Allah swt, in search of salvation and happiness in this world and the hereafter.

      Terminologically, Islam is submission of a servant to the divine revelation which was revealed to the prophets and apostles especially Prophet Muhammad to be a way of life as well as the law or the rules of Allah to guide mankind to the straight path, to the happiness of the world and the hereafter.

 Islam is the only religion accepted by Allah,  Allah swt say:

إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الْإِسْلَامُ

"Truly blessed religion with Allah is Islam."  (ali Imran : 19)

then all religions outside of Islam is rejected and not accepted by Allah swt.
